Sterling Machining specialises in CNC machining of a wide range of materials — from standard engineering metals to high-performance alloys and technical plastics. Our experience spans stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, aluminium, exotic alloys, and polymers used in critical applications across aerospace, oil & gas, extrusion tooling, and specialist engineering sectors.

We routinely machine stainless grades such as 304, 316 and 17-4PH for corrosion-resistant parts, as well as EN8 and EN24 steels for high-strength components. For lightweight, high-strength requirements, we offer expert aluminium machining (6061, 7075 and more).

Our niche is in exotic alloys — including Inconel, Monel, Nimonic, Titanium and Super Duplex — where precision, heat control and work-hardening management are essential. We also support applications in PEEK, Acetal and Nylon, delivering tight-tolerance plastic components with excellent surface finish.

All materials can be sourced in-house as part of a full turnkey supply, including heat treatment and surface finishing via trusted partners. Backed by ISO 9001:2015 and over 50 years’ combined machining experience, we ensure quality, traceability and repeatability across every batch.

Duplex / S31803/S32205

A stainless steel with a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite, providing high strength and excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting.

Hastelloy

A group of nickel-based alloys known for their exceptional corrosion resistance in highly aggressive chemical environments and high temperatures.

H13 / 1.2344

A chromium-molybdenum-vanadium hot work tool steel known for its excellent combination of toughness and resistance to thermal fatigue cracking.

Inconel 718 / Alloy 718

A nickel-chromium superalloy characterized by excellent high-yield tensile and creep-rupture properties at temperatures up to 1300°F (704°C).

Inconel 725 / Alloy 725

A nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and very high strength, particularly suitable for sour gas applications.

Monel K500 / Alloy 500

A nickel-copper alloy that combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with greater strength and hardness.

Super Duplex / S32760

A highly alloyed duplex stainless steel offering superior corrosion resistance and strength compared to standard duplex grades, ideal for highly corrosive environments.

Austenitic stainless steels with added molybdenum, providing enhanced corrosion resistance, especially in chloride environments. 316L is the low carbon version.

A high-strength alloy steel, typically used for components requiring high tensile strength and toughness, such as shafts, gears, and connecting rods.
